She was predeceased by: her parents, Neil Bennett and Evelyn Bennett; her husband Gordon Brooks Stephenson; her siblings, Jean Bennett, Joan Ploughman, Junior and Teddy Bennett; and her grandson Jeffrey Gordon Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Colin Stephenson (Karla) of Littleton, NC, Michael Stephenson of Garner and Donna Hayes (Jeff) of Raleigh; her grandchildren, Nicole Hitchcock of Chapel Hill, Brooke Lewis of Mooresville, Zachary Hayes (Libby) of Willow Spring, Morgan Hayes of Raleigh and Taylor Hayes (Wrenn Dawson); and her siblings, Isabel Kelley, Vera Sweetapple (Hollis), Mena Keats (John), Ivan Bennett (Lorraine) and Chesley Bennett (Doris).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's, Community of Hope Food Pantry or Transitions Hospice Life Care.
