He is survived by: his children, Sharon Merritt-Cannon (Michael) of Raleigh, Shelia Bradshaw (Calvin) of Raleigh, Jenny Taylor of Raleigh, Allison Fowler (Lamont) of Raleigh, Ralph Height (Vivian) of Raleigh, Carl Merritt (LaToya) of Clayton and Donna Harris of Raleigh. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
