It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Lacy Hobby Jr. (Garner, North Carolina), who passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lacy Hobby Sr. and Martha Hobby; his siblings, Gwen Prior and Jerry Hobby; and his half-brother Charles Sauls.

He is survived by: his wife Jean; and his children, Jay (Tammie), Mike (Lelle), Donna Marie Smith, Cindy Roebuck (Chip) and Tammy Church (Curtis). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
