He is survived by: his wife Alice Austin; his children, Rachel Dargan (Jeff) of Raleigh and Travis Austin of Raleigh; his granddaughters, Emma Dargan of Raleigh, Abigail Dargan of Raleigh and Olivia Dargan of Raleigh; his sister Barbara Frizzell (Jason) of Winter Springs, FL; and his niece Darby Gracey (Josh) of Atlanta, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Wake County, 200 Petfinder Lane Raleigh, NC 27603 in Jack's memory.
