He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Lawrence Futrell and Essie Jordan Futrell; his siblings, Bobby Futrell, Tom Futrell, Charlie Futrell, Eva Ruth Futrell Capps, Harold Futrell and Perry Joe Futrell; his son Gary Frank Futrell; and his grandson Brendan Futrell.
He is survived by: his wife Gerda Futrell; his children, Gabrielle, Doris Futrell and James Futrell (Sabrina); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Robyn and Gary; and his siblings, Stella Christensen, Linda Faye Tart, Essie Marie Williams, Kathy Futrell, Mary Sue Tew, Glenn Futrell and Stanley Futrell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dunn Funeral Home of Newton Grove (503 Raleigh St, Newton Grove, NC 28366). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the Hillcrest Cemetery (16100 Hobbton Hwy, Newton Grove, NC 28366).
