She was predeceased by: her parents, John Michael Matula and Violet Ann Drewniak Matula; and her son Stephan Dean Bird, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Jeannette A. Skuce (Samuel) of Garner, Michael Bird (Tracey McGuyrt) of Garner and Brian Bird (Michelle) of Garner; and her sister Janet A. Robinson of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19 the family is considering having a service at a later date.
