With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Wilson Whitman (Garner, North Carolina), who passed away on April 8, 2018 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent George Whitman, Sr.. He is survived by: his parent Louise Coker Whitman; his wife Clara Mitchell Whitman; his daughters, Diane Walls and Lisa Hatfield (Lloyd); his son-in-law Jim; his grandchildren, Eric (Jamie), Adrian, John Lloyd (Carissa), Victor, Josh, Libby (Chris) and Jason (Heather); his great grandchildren, Isabel, Victoria, Michael, Quintin, Daniel, Alyssa, Trent and Gavin; his sisters, Betty (Wayne), Patricia (George) and Connie (Steve); and his siblings-in-law, Jerry and Rena. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Clara Mitchell Whitman; his daughters, Diane Walls and Lisa Hatfield (Lloyd); son-in-law, Jim -husband of his deceased daughter, Georgia; grandchildren, Eric (Jamie), Adrian, John Lloyd (Carissa), Victor, Josh, Libby (Chris) and Jason (Heather); great-grandchildren, Isabel, Victoria, Michael, Quintin, Daniel, Trinity, Alyssa, Trent, Gavin, and CJ; his sisters, Betty (Wayne), Patricia (George) and Connie (Steve) ; brother-in-law, Jerry and sister-in-law, Rena, as well as many nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved .
