He was predeceased by: his son Nathan Adams of Garner; his parents, Durwood Adams of Dunn and Lila Adams of Raleigh; his father-in-law James Blue of Dunn; and his stepmother Joyce Adams of Dunn.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Blue Adams of Garner; his daughter Amanda Scholl (Josh) of Willow Spring; his grandchildren, Lila Scholl, James Scholl and Willow Spring; his brother Wayne Adams (Cynthia) of Greenville; his mother-in-law Doris Blue of Dunn; and his brother-in-law Ronnie Blue of Dunn.
