He is survived by: his wife Dr. Cynthia Hicks-Giles; his children, Chad Durell Giles of Greensboro, Elgin Wayne Giles (Katherine) of Raleigh and Velencia Mae-Elizabeth Giles of Garner; his parents, Mary Chavis Wiggins of Raleigh and John O. Giles (Debbie) of Raleigh; his sisters, Dr. Tarsha Wiggins-Banister (Thomas Banister) of Jamestown and Crystal Freeman (Marcus Peppers) of Raleigh; his mother-in-law Lula Mae Hicks of Garner; and his sister-in-law Beverly Hicks Scott of Stone Mountain, Georgia.
