He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Chester Johnson and Claudia Woodall Johnson; his wife Ruth Anne Thornton Johnson; his daughters, Angela "Angie" Johnson Lewis (Robert) of Kenly and DeAnn Johnson Howell (Chris) of Benson; his granddaughters, Brianna Nicole "Bri" Lewis and Charissa Blair Howell; and his siblings, Annette Smith of Wilmington, James Johnson of Arizona and Joe Johnson of Four Oaks. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be made to Burnell Baptist Church,.
