He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Carroll and Annie Hobby Carroll. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Nancy Harris Carroll; his sister Christine Carroll Faison of Austell, GA; his nieces, Karen Faison of Smyrna, GA, Teresa Lavoy (Fred) of Cary, NC and Sheila Hoskins (Forrest) of Grand Junction, CO; and his nephew Stan Faison (Sandi) of Houston, TX. He is also survived by 4 great nieces; 1 great nephew; and 1 great great nephew.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mount Zion UMC or Trinity United Methodist Church, PO Box 12867, New Bern, NC.
