She is survived by: her husband Bernard Matthews; her son Robert Matthews (Janet); her granddaughter Jessie Matthews; her brother Jerry Whitby (Kathy); her sister-in-law Barbara Matthews; her nephews, Jason Whitby (Brandy), Jeremy Whitby and Tommy Matthews; her niece Cathy Stevens; her great-nephews, Jacob Whitby, Andrew Whitby, Christopher McLamb and Jonathan McLamb (Candice); and also, Avery McLamb, Jacob, Bryce and Colin McLamb.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh or Highland Baptist Church of Raleigh.
