She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Colon Wallace and Virginia Caroline Wallace; her former husband Roy E. Byrd; her husband J. Kenneth Johnson; and her sister Judy Blackmon.
She is survived by: her children, Tony Byrd (Randy), Keith Byrd (Denise) and Kim Jackson (Billy); her sisters, Jean Byrd of Benson and Peggy Smith of Four Oaks; her grandchildren, Nikki Hefner (Josh), Ashely Shaw (Andrew), Ryan Jackson (Mandy), Mitchell Byrd (Jordan) and Nathan Byrd (Brittany); her great grandchildren, Noah, Logan, Lily, Grace, Hunter, Aubury, Amelia, Avery, Libby, Natalie and Lucy; and her stepdaughters, Mona Johnson Hudson of Florida and Lynne Johnson Lockard of Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center or to the UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.
