She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Hinsdale and Early Alene Johnson Hinsdale; her husband Franklin Eugene Slayton, Sr.; and her son William Linn Slayton. She is survived by: her children, Franklin Eugene Slayton Jr. (Darlene) of North Carolina and Elizabeth Ann Wilkerson (Brian) of Garland, NC; her grandchildren, Daniel Brown, Ashley Allred, April Slayton, Codey Slayton and Shane Wilkerson; and her great grandchildren, Preston and Paisley Allred.
