Ethelene R. Barnes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ethelene R. Barnes (Garland, North Carolina), who passed away on January 23, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar Russ and Annie Lou Norris Russ; her husband Clyde O. Barnes, Sr.; her brothers, Elton Russ (Sandra) and Buck Russ (Lucille); and her grandson Michael Packer.
She is survived by: her children, Clyde O. Barnes, Jr. (Denise), Cynthia Darleen Jackson (Donnie) and Edgar Barnes (Michele); her grandchildren, Amy McDuffie (Craig), Donna Jackson Hardee (Lucas), Berry Packer (Nicole), Graham Russ Barnes (Elizabeth), Hannah Barnes, Michael McDuffie and Matthew McDuffie; and her great grandchildren, Niqua Mayes, Jackson Hardee, Ezekiel Simonsen and Nellie Sue Barnes. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Beards Chapel (409 Beards Chapel Loop Rd, Garland, NC 28441). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Beards Chapel Baptist Church (409 Beards Chapel Loop Rd, Garland, NC 28441).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bladen County Animal Shelter, 506 Smith Circle, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
