As we bid Sylvia Steadman farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Sylvia Steadman is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert B. Sr. Steadman and Vivian Rhodes Steadman; her brother Bernard Steadman; and her son Jerry Godwin, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Richard Coomes; and her daughters, Lisa Wood (Todd), Andrea Godwin (Romania), Shelly Beauchamp and Tari Coomes. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home (401 N Ennis St, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526). A memorial service was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
