She was predeceased by: her father Daniel Ernest Matthews, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Alton Leath Prevatte; her daughter Courteney Prevatte Howell; her son-in-law Elijah Glenn Howell, III; her granddaughter Emma Leath Howell; and her siblings-in-law, Kay C. Matthews of Goldsboro and Donald C. Prevatte of Charleston. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
