She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Adams and Lina Adams; her husband William Richard Matthews; her daughter-in-law Sylvia Matthews; her grandson Zach Matthews; and her siblings, Annie Lee Edwards, Bo Adams and Carlie Adams.
She is survived by: her sons, Gary Matthews (Kim) and Rick Matthews; her grandsons, Brett Matthews (Amanda) and Blake Matthews; her great grandchild Blakely; and her sisters, Melba Butler and Barbara Matheny. She is also survived by her mother and sisters.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church - Fuquay (10005 Lake Wheeler Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526). A burial was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flower, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the cemetery fund of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10005 Lake Wheeler Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
