She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathan Newsome and Emily Minshew Newsome; and her sister Jean Thorne. She is survived by: her husband Joel D. O'Neal; her children, Melissa Flores (Dan) of Erwin and Jody O'Neal (Gena) of Wilson; her grandchildren, Ryan, Kristina Flores, Drew and Nate O'Neal; and her siblings, Nancy Mooring (Allen) of Rocky Mount, Linda Huggins (Van) of Kinston and Buck Newsome of Fremont.
