She was predeceased by : her fathers, Oscar James and Milo Jack Fortney; her husband Jesse Leroy Sims; and her children, Bradley Leroy Sims Sr., Michael Lynn Sims Sr. and Cathy Jo Mayo.

She is survived by : her daughter Stacy Sims Adams (Horace) of Fremont; and her daughter-in-law Brenda Sims of Virginia. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
