He was predeceased by : his parents, David Grimes and Lela Mae Chase; and his sister JoAnn Overby. He is survived by : his children, Brandon Grimes (Amber) of Fremont, Ashton Grimes (Stephanie) of Fremont, Brooks Grimes of Fremont and Lisa Grimes Tyner (Craig) of Fremont; and his siblings, Dennis Grimes (Judy) of Stantonsburg, Ricky Grimes (Pat) of Wilson, Sheila Lamm (Jimmy) of Wilson and Suzette Tilghman of Snow Hill. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
