We are sad to announce that on January 14, 2022, at the age of 91, Dorothy Ballance Pate of Fremont, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Wilbert C. Fitzgerald Sr. and Effie Wellons Fitzgerald; her husbands, Harry Bryant Ballance Jr. and Dewey M. Pate; and her siblings, Malcolm, Wilbert, Rubert Fitzgerald and Marjorie Berson.
She is survived by : her sons, Gerald B. Ballance (Deborah) of Fremont and Andy Ballance (Jenny) of Fremont; her stepchildren, John D. Pate (Betty) of Pikeville, Morris B. Pate (Charlene) of Pikeville and Martie McCall (Randy) of Pikeville; her sisters, Louise Wombolt of Virginia, Edith Knight (Harold) of Greensboro and Pat Humphries of Virginia; her sister-in-law Lu Little of Kenly; and her grandchildren, Ann Marie McPherson (Chris), Bryant Ballance, Harry Ballance Jr. and Jessica Ballance. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
