She was predeceased by: her parents, James Roy Smith Sr. and Eva Mooring Smith; her brother James Smith; her grandson Bailey Scheu; and her son-in-law Kevin Rhyne.
She is survived by: her husband Reverend J. Steve Watson; her daughters, Stephanie Rhyne of Goldsboro and Angela Clayton (Bobby) of Goldsboro; her siblings, Billy Smith (Jane) of Goldsboro and Hope Smith (Reggie) of Goldsboro; her sister-in-law Margie Smith of Goldsboro; and her grandchildren, Kelly Bode (Joe), Britney Rhyne (Greg), Reagan Scheu (Clay), Christian Scheu (Sierra), Jonathan Clayton (Hailey) and Adalyn "Addie" Bennett. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
