He was predeceased by: his father Lonnie Woods, Sr.; and his son Walter Ernest Woods. He is survived by: his children, Jacob Woods of Trinity, Michael Wayne Stevens of Asheboro, Veronica Woods of Randleman and Emily Woods of Randleman; his mother Emma D. Woods of Franklinville; and his sister Pamela Woods of Liberty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
