He was predeceased by: his wife Eldred Frazier Brown; his parents, Colvin Brown and Ethel Laughlin Brown; his siblings, Betty Lou Bowers, Jimmy Brown and Ray Brown; and his sister-in-law Martha Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Austin of Climax and Rodney Byron Brown of Franklinville; his brothers, Irvin Brown of Asheboro and Allen Brown of Archdale; his grandchildren, Jason Austin, Della of Climax, Kasey Austin Wood, Brian of Climax and Nathan Brown of Norfolk, VA.; his stepgrandchildren, Derek Funk, Brittany of Franklinville and Cody Wood of Seagrove; and also, Kenneth of Climax and Delaine of Franklinville.
