He was predeceased by: his wife Juanita M. Mitchell; his parents, Paul Mitchell and Bonnie G. Mitchell; and his siblings, Max Mitchell and Doris Heath.
He is survived by: his sons, Pat Mitchell (Brenda) of Randleman, Mike Mitchell (Darlene) of Franklinville, Danny Mitchell of Snow Camp and Tim Mitchell (Cindy) of Liberty; and his sister Jean Hinkle of Charlotte. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
