He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Kirkman and Evelyn Lednum Kirkman; his wife Inez Moon Kirkman; and his brothers, Earl Kirkman and Rayford Kirkman.
He is survived by: his husband Tommy of Franklinville; his brothers, Walter Kirkman of Ramseur and Odell Kirkman of Ramseur; his grandchildren, Jonathan Kirkman, Allyson of Randleman, Katie Decker-Fisk, Preston of Summerville, SC, Kelli Kirkman and Robert Caviness of Ramseur; his great grandchild Reagyn Brooke Kirkman; his daughter-in-law Jeanette Kirkman; and his stepgrandson Michael Williamson.
