He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Bullard McGhee (Libby); his sons, Wyatt L. McGhee IV (Patsy) and Geof McGhee; his granddaughters, Ruby McGhee and Lucy McGhee; his nephews, Ben O'Neal and Lem O'Neal (Mary Ann); his great-nieces, JJ, Ashley and Kelly O'Neal; his great-nephew Chris O'Neal (Samantha); his cousin Philip D. Meador, MD (Nance); his brother-in-law Ron Bullard (Jan); and his stepgrandchildren, Sara Moon, Zoe Deaton, Nelson Moore (Sarah) and Mary Helen Moore.
