Vickie Dale Kearney Obituary

Vickie Dale Kearney, 79, of Franklinton, passed away on February 28, 2025 at Duke University Medical Center. Dale was born in Vance County on October 10, 1945 to the late Herbert S. and Margaret P. Kearney. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mary Iva Ray Kearney; and his sister, Jean Lowery.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Kelly Woodlief (Alex); his son, Herbert Dale Kearney (Theresa) ; seven grandchildren, Laurence Kearney, Dallton Kearney, Autumn Webb (Alec), Timothy Woodlief (Ashlee), Hunter Woodlief, Tasha Mangum (Trent), and Rodney Jones (Theresa); six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Also surviving are his brothers, Maurice Kearney (Judy), and Larry Kearney (Barbara).

Dale was a hard working man, he worked thinning timber for nearly 20 years, but his passion was with agriculture and farming. He raised livestock and enjoyed planting gardens. Dale loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and teaching them things that he knew. Dale enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. He loved taking family trips to Myrtle Beach and having a good time.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in the Kearney Family Cemetery with Pastor Spencer Strickland and Maurice Kearney officiating.
