He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Hight and Thelma Ball Evans (Garland); his wife Brenda Bunn Hight; his stepfather Garland Evans; his stepson Joseph Lea Waite Jr.; and his brother John Felix Hight.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Sherry Waite Reed (Edward) and Michael Waite (Tracy); his daughter-in-law Cyndi Waite; and his grandchildren, Curtis Vick (Beth), Trevor Kennedy, Jonathan Reed (Megan), Matthew Reed (Autumn), Sean Waite (Anna), Ashley Waite, Logan Waite (Alexis) and Jodi Waite (Tay). He is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor (834 N Main St, Creedmoor, NC 27522). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Creedmoor (834 N Main St, Creedmoor, NC 27522).
