She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Allen, Sr. and Molly Mariah Murray Allen; her husband Herbert Grey Wells; her son Joseph Allen Wells; and her siblings, Catherine Allen Hayes and Clyde Allen, Jr. (Rosalee).
She is survived by: her children, Rosalee, Herbert and Catherine McLean (Ronnie) of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Jeremy McLean and Jennifer Bloech; her son Eugene Wells (Marsha) of Elm City; her grandchildren, Micah Wells, Marcus Wells, Angie Johnson, John Bumgarner and Ginger Lewis; her daughter Kimberly Carr (Rob) of High Point; her grandchildren, Maria Carr, Robbie Carr and Christopher Carr; her son Phil Wells of Wilmington; her daughter-in-law Debbie Wells of Knoxville; her grandchildren, James Allen Wells and Lindsey Pittman; and her cousin Carol Hart of Franklinton. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to her home church, Woodland Baptist Church, or her son Eugene's church, Elm City Baptist Church.
