It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Lee Smith of Franklin, North Carolina, born in Clayton, Georgia, who passed away on October 5, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil William Smith and Edna Ethel Bumgarner Smith; and his siblings, Mary Norris (Johnny), Lydia Bryson (Don) and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Louetta; his children, Jenny, Jason (Sherry) and Justin; his sister Malina Fowler (Phil); and his grandchildren, Hope and Grant. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cowee Baptist Church (6301 Bryson City Rd, Franklin, NC 28734). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
