We are sad to announce that on January 21, 2025, at the age of 88, Richard Mendenhall Mottola Sr. of Franklin, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Mottola and Josephine Mottola; his wife Betty Lou; and his grandson Gary Michael Mottola. He is survived by: his children, Richard Mottola Jr. of Franklin, Gary Mottola of New Smyrna, FL, Sandra Mottola of Franklin, Nicholas Mottola III of Franklin, William Mottola of Rosemont, FL and Betty Mottola of Santa Fe, TN; his grandchildren, Sam Bridgers, Sandra LeCroy, Gary Mottola and Nicholas Mottola; and his great grandchildren, Zoey Bridgers, Lilly Joe McElhaney, Ellie Grey McElhaney and Summer LeCroy.
