We bid farewell to Nellie Ruth Sanders of Franklin, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 7, 2025 at the age of 89. Nellie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her mother Pauline McConnell; her husband Conley Owens; and her stepfather Jay McConnell. She is survived by: her great grandchild Shelby Ruth; her son Gary Owens (Evelyn); her grandson Matthew Owens (April); her great grandchildren, Chloe and Sadie; and her siblings, Frank McCall (Ezulia), Mary Rice (Bethel), Doris Bryant, Jennie Henry, Bob McConnell (Pattie), Bill McConnell (Pam) and Margaret Woods. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Macon Funeral Home (261 Iotla St, Franklin, NC 28734). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
