He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Higdon and Allene Elizabeth Roper Higdon. He is survived by: his son-in-law Jimmy Dixon; his nephew Stephen Higdon; his sister-in-law Judith Higdon; his wife Mary Nell Higdon; his daughters, Mary Elizabeth "Lisa" Higdon Dixon (Jason Liberadzki) and Sharon Higdon Wilcox; his brothers, Charles Higdon and George Higdon (Linda); his siblings-in-law, Linda Seay, Frances Seay, Jay Seay, David Seay and Horace Seay; his grandchildren, Luke Dixon (Katelynn), Jordan Dixon, Bo Dixon (Mallory) and Emily McVicker; and his great grandchildren, Caitlin Dixon, Casen Dixon, Lucas Dixon, Oakley Dixon and Ryland Dixon.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Oakdale Baptist Church (5297 Upper Burningtown Rd, Franklin, NC 28734). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in care of Frances Seay to assist with expenses.
