He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Cunningham and Edith Grant Cunningham; his wife Geraldine Stockton Cunningham; his grandsons, Wayne Cunningham and Brandon Sumner; and his brother Howard Cunningham.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Wayne Cunningham (Lisa) of Sylva, NC, Wanda Cunningham Norris (Tony) of Otto, NC and Sheila Cunningham Bowers (John) of Tuckasegee, NC; his siblings, Roger Cunningham of Otto, NC, Mike Cunningham of Marietta, GA, Hershel Cunningham of Marietta, GA, Steve Cunningham of Marietta, GA and Mildred Holland of Marietta, GA.; his grandchildren, Jarrett Cunningham, Ryan Angel, Toni Nicole Johnson, Cristie Stockton and Aimee Sumner; and his great grandchildren, Abigail Angel, Ryland Angel, Ethan Johnson, Bradley Johnson, Benjamin Sumner, Emma Jo Watson and Ty Hamlin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
