He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Richard Hopkins Sr. and Margorie Ella Collins Hopkins; and his brothers, Howard Richard Hopkins Jr., Charles William, Jerry Ray and Harold Dean Hopkins.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Alice Hopkins, Betty Sue Hopkins, Patsy Ann Hopkins Holbrooks, Randy, Billy Hopkins of Franklin, Elaine Wilkie (Alan) of Fletcher, NC, Edith Sullivan (Gary) of Fletcher, NC and Barbara Weaver of Franklin; his children, Gary Lee Hopkins Jr. Tusing of Florida, Cassandra Elaine Hopkins Tusing of Florida and Bridgett LeeAnn Hopkins Phillips of South Carolina; and his uncle Byrd Monroe Collins, Jr. of Franklin. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grands and 48 nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews.
