He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Nelson Hedgepeth and Florene Smith Hedgepeth; his wife Sara Jo; his grandson Ryan Dotson; and his great grandchild Jackson Hedgepeth.
He is survived by: his sons, Nelson Hedgepeth (Beth) of Newberry, SC, Byron Hedgepeth (Elise) of Fairview, NC and Tommy Hedgepeth (Angela) of Mooresville, NC.; his grandchildren, Joseph Hedgepeth (Nicole), Sarah Howie (Stephen), Aaron Hedgepeth, Caleb Hedgepeth (Nichole), Jessica Balkin (Craig), Forrest Hedgepeth (Daniella) and Betsy Ferguson (Tim); and his great grandchildren, Abby, Brayden, Claire, Morgan, Stephen of Jude, CJ, Noah, Phillip, Shuli, Avdi and Violet.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Franklin.
