She is survived by: her husband Dwight Southard; her son Jonathan Southard (Kayla Campbell) of Franklin; her stepchildren, Karen Wade (Billy Cabe) of Cary and Chuck Southard (Maggie) of Franklin; and her siblings, Patricia West of Roderfield and Danny Varney of Welch. She is also survived by five step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Pretty in Pink Foundation to help breast cancer patients in North Carolina.
