He is survived by: his wife Ella Mae Stiwinter Armstrong of Franklin, NC; his sons, Troy Armstrong (Becky) of Franklin, NC and Johnny Armstrong (Christy) of Andrews, NC.; and his sister Becky. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
