We are sad to announce that on January 15, 2021, at the age of 96, Verna Smith of Frank, North Carolina, born in Sapphire, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Raines Reid Fugate and Thomas Ford Reid; her husband Frank A. Smith, Sr.; her siblings, Cartter Reid, J. T. Reid, Sue Geesen and Anne Swafford; and her stepfather Ed Fugate.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Smith Jarrett (Horace), Rev. Frank A. Smith, Jr. (Gwen) and Dean Smith (Donna); and her grandchildren, Lynn Jarrett Prince (Kevin), Christopher Jarrett, Chesnee Smith Marshall (Brian), Jennie Smith Regan (John) and Matthew Smith (Andrea). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews and many cousins.
