He was predeceased by: his parents, James Benjamin Adams and Maebell Vaughn Adams; his wife Nona Lee Bell Adams; his siblings, Wesley Jackson Adams, Robert Allen Adams, Nancy Bowers and Nellie Arthur; and his son-in-law Lester Hulin.
He is survived by: his children, James Lee Adams (Janet) of Denton, Teresa Elaine Surratt (Jerry) of Lexington and Debora Jean Hulin of Denton; and his siblings, Jerry Vaughn Adams of Thomasville, Maydene Adams Segrest of Raleigh and Patricia Ann Lassiter of Archdale. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
