He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nicholas Hess and Grace Waltz Lortz Schlund; and his son William "Billy" Nicholas Hess. He is survived by: his wife LaVerne F. Hess; his children, Ginny Siedler (Michael), Robert Hess (Kathy), Kathy Schilling (Justin), Richard Hess (Carol), Terry Campbell (Jeff), Michael Hess (Pebbles) and Cheryl Williams (Jonathan); and his sister Mariam Sandoni. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
