It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus W. Johnson (Four Oaks, North Carolina), who passed away on March 1, 2018, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Rufus "Danny" Daniel Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Meta F. Johnson of Bon Air, VA; and his daughter Phyllis Byrd-Reynolds of Weems, VA. He is also survived by brother, Rev. Roy Johnson of Dunn; sisters, Evelyn Register of Benson, Frances Newman of Irvington, Alabama, Wilma Jean Norris of Clayton, and Sandra Sherrill of Raleigh; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
