It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phyllis McKoy (Four Oaks, North Carolina), who passed away on May 29, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon Robert and Mary Lily Coit McKoy; and her brother Deacon Paul Henry McKoy. She is survived by: her daughter Sophia Deshun Johnson; her grandchildren, Karylon Evonna Johnson and Zho'Dawn Monique Johnson of Winston-Salem; her siblings, Mary McKoy Belle, Veronica J. (Carles Surles), Dr. Yvonne D. McKoy, Marsha D. McKoy, Debra C. McKoy, Garner, Dr. Robert C. McKoy (Patricia) and Queen E. Sanders (Raleigh); her friend Peggy A. Sanders; and her aunt Mary E. Williams. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members, classmates, and friends.
