He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Norris and Clyda Moore Norris; his daughter Rose Norris; his son-in-law Brian Jones; and his siblings, Luther Norris, Lonnie M. Norris, Pearl Johnson, Dorothy Degrace and Linda Norris.
He is survived by: his children, Wilma Ann Pridgen (David) of Selma, Chrissie Jones of Garner, Dennis Norris (Jackie) of Four Oaks, Wayne Norris of Smithfield and Melvin Leon Norris, Jr. (Wendy) of Dunn; and his siblings, Vernon Norris, Ray Norris, Merle Whitley, Jean Thompson and Faye Barefoot. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
