He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jesse and Victoria Lee Blackmon; his grandson Finn Leveris; and his siblings, Vera Bizzell, Melvin Ray Blackmon, Billy Blackmon and Bobby Blackmon.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Ellis Blackmon; his children, Michael Blackmon and Michelle Blackmon Leveris (Aaron); his grandchildren, Ansley Blackmon, Grant Blackmon, Stacy Kate Leveris, Josie Gray Leveris and Preston Banks Leveris; his sisters, Alice Stevens, Ruby Creech, Wilma Stewart and Peggy Dunn; his stepchildren, Jennifer P. Jones (Jon) and Jim Philyaw; and his stepgrandsons, Ben Jones and Noah Jones.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
