With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Lee Godwin of Four Oaks, North Carolina, who passed away on December 10, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ralph and Lena Pearl Strickland Godwin; and his spouse Beryl Stroud Godwin. He is survived by: his children, Lee-Lyn Godwin Carter and Gregory Scott Godwin; his stepdaughter Virginia Stroud-Lewis (Glyn) of Oxford, England.; his grandson Christopher Carter (Rebecca) of Clayton, NC.; his great grandchildren, Ila Cate, Hadley, Scarlett Carter of Clayton, Liam Turner and Valerie Godwin of Middleburg Fl; and his siblings, Ruth Strickland (Lloyd) of Smithfield, Lois Wilkins of Bahama, John Ralph Godwin (Bud) of Clayton, Betty Norris of Four Oaks, Jimmie Godwin (Phyllis) of Smithfield and Joanne Pope of Smithfield. He is also survived by the oldest of 7 siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Amelia Christian Church in Clayton, or any Veteran's Organization.
