He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bobby Layton and Clara Lee Blackmon; his wife Linda B. Blackmon; his children, Shane Blackmon, Traci B. Boyette (Andrew), Tori Evans Parrish (Chris Dove), Amber Griffin (John) and Ashley Deans; his grandchildren, Rebecca Johnson, Anthony Parrish, Madison Rhodes, Kendra Parrish and Jaxson Jones; and his sister Diane B. Godwin (Philip). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
