He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas C. Johnson and Irene Massengill Johnson; and his child Abby. He is survived by: his wife Crystal Jones Johnson of Four Oaks; his children, Bug and Ellie Mae; his brother-in-law Craig Jones (Marilyn) of Finton, Missouri; and his close friend Kim Messer of Four Oaks. He is also survived by several cousins and friends.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Friends of Johnston County Animal Services, 115 Shelter Way Smithfield, NC 27577.
